Default am I really a jerk?

in nahpuili mission (cantha) last night with some all too obvious noobs..there was an E/? lvl 20 with, had to be, starters armor..so he's dying every other minute..which was bad enough..worse than that his guildmate N/mo keeps rezzing him in the middle of battle..giving the turtles a nice easy corpse to spam well of wearinesss or suffering (can't remeber which)..so I kinda flame them after the (no lie) 10th time..with only a new player to the monk class and a healing rit with no clue healing our party there was basiclly just me w/n..a ranger, and a sin <---- great player (first time ive PUGed with a great Sin player) trying to at the very least finish the mission..so am I a jerk cuz I started flaming these noobs about there ignorant freaking playing style..i only ask cuz the whole party was saying i was being a dick..and I just wanted some halfway decent players to finish this mish with..oooo almost forgot..the necro gets a gold shield on a drop so for the rest of the mission attempt 2 other players were like having a freaking auction.."can i buy that?" "do u want it identified or not" etc etc etc..I believe thats when i really lost it and called them an array of colorful nooblet names...i just dont see how im the bad guy in he group when everyone else was being stupid..wow..i'm done ranting now sorry

Dunno the full story but I do understand you are very impatient. Don't you know that dying is part of a pugs strategy? They usually fight until death and try to take at least one monster with them. Also, pugs all want masters reward, but constantly linger around without any reason. And when they really want masters reward, and want to work for it, the monk and ele constantly needs to regen.
To be short; Have patience in pugs and don't lose your cool. You can always get masters reward an other day.

You sound like you're pretty full of yourself tbh. The first mistake is holding any kind of standards to other people (who are not l33t know-it-alls shock horror). The second is to then start hurling insults around like that somehow makes you any better.

Yeah, I wouldnt let it bother you too much, happens a lot. If they are messing with the flow of battle and not doing their share of healing/damage/whatever they do. Then i like to yell at them to get them in line again. So, this isnt uncommon I had a guy in Ugoz's Warren, I got a Gold Exalted Aegis.. wee for me. But one of the party members kept whispering me that he would like to buy it, i told him after the mission and ill arrange a deal. He was pissed at my logic seeing that he was a healer and an idiot. So he spent the rest of his time not healing and spaming "Deameon's a noob" so I being the amused player at that moment, waited till he died, didnt rez him and he left on his own accord.

The moral to this story is, theres always gunna be dumb/noobish/jerkish people. Just try to make the best of the situation, and if all else fails Ignore them

ya i understand how a pug works but we wern't even going for masters..it was just to get throught the mish..and i was being patient (i didn't get pissed at the newbie monk or rit) i understood the healers were kinda new at it and they didn't really piss me off..it was the necro and ele just being stupid. i mean if someone is dying every time they get hit..just leave them behind..thier fault for having starters armor..but if the necro is spending all his time rezzing a useless player in our group..not once..twice..three times..but 10 freaking times!!! omg i was getting pissed..i had patience up until that point..then the whole auction..omg..u would have thought that jesus himself came down or something..its like relax guys its just a gold drop..not the cure for cancer...do people in pugs ususally stop and start looking at trade screens when they are in the middle of a fight? not after the mob is clear but when we are actually fighting them...? idk..just getting frustrated with pugs lately..and getting tired of henching everything..where are the decent grps..guess i can only rely on myh own guildmates..

Personally, I think the other people in the group didn't know better because they're new, but you as a more experienced player should've known better. But honestly, if I were you, I probably would've lost it too, after explaining it to them for the umpteenth time.

Just remember that there's always more than one way to handle a situation. The mature way, or the immature way. I'll let you determine the difference.

People like you are why GW players have such a horrible reputation. Instead of insulting them why couldn't you just teach them a better way? You could have turned a new player into a better one yet you chose to be a dick instead. I've never understood the obsessive need for gamers to insult inexperienced players personally, I guess people need ways to make their e-peen bigger.

There I corrected your original post. Now maybe if you did this, you wouldn't be considered a jerk:

Pretty bad idea to try to validate yourself now, don't you agree?

let me set u straight real quick..i did explain what they were doing to hurt our grp..i even gave the monk and rit some advice about staying back while i grab all the aggro...they reply from the necro was "don't worry about what were doing just fight..I'll take care of the ele"..really? your gonna what rez hi m again just to watch him die?..I never flame nooblets..i was a nooblet once..but when i started playing and an experienced player was like "what are u doing noob?..do this instead"..i actually took the advice..thats how i became a better player. even if you've been playing for 3 hrs..doesn't give you the right to screw up everyone else with stupidity..listen and learn noobs listen and learn..also FYI many a time I've answered ?'s for new peeps in towns and missions..be able to do that is a cool thing and is what brings you outta noob status...

Ah, another one of these know-it-alls...
Yes you were a jerk.

The mature way to handle the situation would be to try and HELP the less experienced players by offering them ADVICE. Not by shouting NOOB over and over. The other players were trading in the mission. So what?

Quote:
and i was being patient
If the other players wernt saying anything, obviously you had the least patience in your whole group.

Quote:

Yes, I frequently trade golds that I dont want(usually giving them away to party members) or trade candy canes/keys during a fight.

Conclusion:
Play with other players for fun and a giggle. It helps when everyone is quite laid back.
If you have a tight arse and desperately want to plough through a mission, bring henchies. Nobody likes to play with someone who critisises players or complains about things.

Using the word "noob" 8 times at least, and you can't see why people think you're full of yourself/got an attitude problem? Looks to me like you're unable to accept it anyway, the last response proves that.
